Some wedding days feel like an escape from everyday life. Kim and Christian’s destination wedding at Killruddery House was exactly that.
Travelling from Miami to Ireland with their closest friends and family, they created a celebration that felt incredibly personal, surrounded by the beauty of County Wicklow and the historic grounds of Killruddery House.

Getting Ready at Powerscourt Hotel
The day began at Powerscourt Hotel, where Kim got ready surrounded by the people closest to her. From the quiet anticipation of the morning to the final touches before leaving for the ceremony, these early moments became an important part of the story.
There is something special about photographing these quieter hours. The dress, the details, the champagne, the laughter and those little moments between family and friends all build the anticipation for what is still to come.

A Destination Wedding in Ireland
For Kim and Christian, travelling from Miami to Ireland meant their wedding became more than a single day. It was an experience shared with the people they love most.
That feeling carried throughout the celebration at Killruddery House. There was an incredible sense of excitement in having everyone together, with guests travelling across the world to celebrate with them.

Their Wedding at Killruddery House
Killruddery House provided an incredible setting for their wedding day, with its historic architecture, gardens and surrounding Wicklow landscape creating a beautiful backdrop for both the planned photographs and the moments that happened naturally.
Our approach was to give Kim and Christian enough direction to create beautiful, editorial portraits while leaving plenty of room for them to actually experience their wedding.
We wanted the photographs to feel elevated without ever feeling overly posed.

Portraits Through the Gardens
The grounds of Killruddery House gave us so many opportunities to create variety throughout their portraits.
Some photographs were carefully composed and editorial. Others were quieter, more intimate moments between the two of them.
That balance is what we love most about wedding photography. You get the photographs that make you stop and look, alongside the photographs that instantly take you back to how the day actually felt.

The Celebration
As the evening continued, the atmosphere shifted from elegant and relaxed to completely celebratory.
Surrounded by their friends and family, Kim and Christian danced, laughed and enjoyed the people who had travelled so far to be there.
Those are often the photographs that become the most meaningful over time. The people, the reactions, the laughter and all the little moments that could never have been planned.

Killruddery House Wedding
From getting ready at Powerscourt Hotel to portraits throughout Killruddery House, Kim and Christian’s wedding was a beautiful example of what makes a destination wedding in Ireland so special.
It was an honour for Brian and I to document their day and preserve the people, places and moments that made it uniquely theirs.
If you are planning your own Killruddery House wedding, we would love to hear about it.
